How to connect your Linux PC to the a shared folder on a windows system

To connect a Linux PC to the windows share you manually need to browse to this location.

1. Click on Places this option is located between Applications and system in the top left corner of the screen.

2. Click on Network

3. Double click on Windows Network

4. Double click on XTAL

5. Double click on the machine name you want to access

6. Double click the folder you want to access.

Step 6 will cause a password dialogue to pop-up.

The dialogue will ask you for a Username, Domain and Password

The username and password are the same for all machines the domain field should contain the machine name you try to access

Username: xxxxx 

Password : xxxxx

Please ask Sasha for user name and password.

Domain : machine name you try to connect to ex. ITC , BIACORE 

7.Fill in the username

8.Fill in the domain

9.Fill in the password

10.Click connect

you should now see the folders that contains the data you want to access.
